CAPABILITY

Traffic Control

Safe Roads Services has everything you need to execute a traffic management plan safely.
Once a traffic management plan has been agreed upon, one of our dedicated project managers will allocate the required equipment, arrange relevant permits, and schedule an experienced traffic supervisor to attend the site to set up and deploy the equipment. For longer-term works, we provide regular servicing and maintenance.

Equipment available includes:
  • Barriers
  • Construction Signs
  • Custom Signage
  • Heavy Duty Traffic Cones
  • Lighting towers
  • Night wands
  • Stop/slow bat
  • Temporary Traffic Lights
  • Traffic Patrol Vehicles equipped with B class arrow boards
  • Truck-mounted Attenuator
  • Variable Message Signage
  • Warning Signs

All our equipment is maintained to the highest standards and comply with all Issue 6 of TCAWS

Traffic Management Plans

The most important thing you must do before planning to disrupt the normal traffic flow is to develop a Traffic Management Plan or Construction Traffic Management Plan.
It is a legal requirement to produce this document and obtain approval from the local council or state authorities such as Transport for NSW before any works begin. Safe Roads Services can organise TMP’s and CTMP’s that comply with all local standards.

A typical TMP will include:
  • Details of the Location and a Traffic Assessment.
  • Details of the Project such as Site Access, Operating Hours, Parking, Work Zones etc.
  • Impact of the Work on the Surrounding Area.
  • Implementation details such as the signage, equipment, and control devices in use.
  • Traffic Control Measures such as Vehicle Entry and Exit, Crossing, and Footpaths.

Failing to produce a TMP or CTMP can lead to hefty fines and delays to works, so let our team take the stress out of the planning.

Traffic Permits

In addition to a Traffic Management Plan, if you plan on occupying or closing the road itself, you may also need to apply for a Road Occupancy License from RMS, a Police Permit, or a Stand Plant Permit from the council.
If you are going to disrupt public transport, you may further require approval from the Transit Authority. Our team of experienced consultants are ready and waiting to submit your permits. As with the Traffic Management Plan, failing to obtain the correct permits may lead to fines and delays to work beginning.

Traffic control management

For your projects, events or emergency incidents, we will allocate a dedicated team leader to each site to ensure the site is set up in accordance with the traffic control plan and all safety measures have been visited.
All our traffic controllers are fully accredited and trained in all aspects of traffic management
